Hi everybody! You are viewing this blog post because you want to know what music genre you are into, right? Well then welcome! There are many different genres to choose from, but I have picked the main ones:

-Pop🄳

-RockšŸ˜Ž

-Hip hop/rapšŸ˜

-R&BšŸ˜„

-Dance🤩

Now, these are quite vague really, because take "rock" for example, there are so many different types of rock you can have, whether that's pop rock, punk rock, grunge rock, alternative rock, the list goes on.

Take this quick quiz to determine your music genre! But please note that the quiz is not meant to be stereotypical, for example, some people might say that if you play guitar, you are going to like rock music and dislike pop music. That's not true!

For some background information, when I am unsure if a fact is true, I search it up on the internet, because I need to make sure that the information I am posting is accurate. So that's exactly what I had to do to make this blog post. I wasn't sure how to determine somebody's music genre, and making a quiz would take way to long and it would be complex, so I searched up things like "What does liking Pop Music say about you?" and I took my information from there. Everybody has their own tastes and opinions, so it's okay if some of the descriptions don't fully match you, this is just a rough guide.

Pop Music: Pop Music artists consist of people such as Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Katy Perry. Take a look at some of their music. Do you find yourself singing along? Do you find yourself pressing the repeat button? Is it going on your playlist? If you answered yes, then you are probably a fan of pop music. There are loads of other pop artists as well which you can explore. It might sound silly, depending on what genre music you like, you can also determine a person's personality. For example, pop music lovers, usually have a gentle personality, and are hardworking and have a very high self-esteem.

Rock Music: Rock music is most commonly identified by crazy drums with lots of mental cymbals and insane guitar riffs. Some forms of rock music can be identified by the lead singer's gritty or maybe shouty voice. Have a listen to some of these bands: Green day, Foo Fighters, Nirvana etc. There are so many but those are just a few. You may notice that all three of those bands have very different elements to them, but they are all rock. Green day is more punk, Foo Fighters is quite heavy and Nirvana is grunge. Do you find yourself rocking along? Well then consider yourself a rock star! People who like rock music tend to be quite open and expressive people and are usually quite outgoing.

Hip Hop/Rap Music:

Hip Hop is characterized by I strong rhythmic beat, and usually has a rapping vocal track. Rapping is when the vocalist says different words and almost talks them, but makes sure they have some sort of pattern to match the backing track with. It's fast paced and doesn't consist of long notes like you would here Celine Dion or Adele sing. Rap consists of short, snappy words which tell a story. Famous rappers are people such as Kayne West and Eminem. Find yourself jamming along? Rap and Hip Hop fans are usually quite youthful, and extroverted. Constantly moving and have a strong sense of self.

R&B Music:

Now, I don't know masses about R&B music myself, but after some research: R&B music stand for "Rhythms and Blues" and consists of many pop, gospel, blues and jazz elements with a strong backbeat. Examples of R&B songs are, Ordinary People-John Legend, Fallin'-Alicia Keys and We Belong Together-Mariah Carey. Check out these songs and see if they match your vibe! R&B fans tend to enjoy the moment and follow their hearts, they are outgoing and tend to not accept unesseccary stress. Does that sound like you? Well then think yourself as an R&B fan!

Dance Music:

Lastly, we have Dance Music. Dance music may not be as so popular now, but certainly was the golden age of the 80s and is also said to be the start of modern rock. Some say that after the pandemic (which seems horrifyingly long ago) dance music was also at a peak. The actual structure of dance music is quite surprising. It lacks vocals and focuses more on the power of instruments and electronic sounds, which, as the name suggests, is meant to make you dance! Popular dance artists consist of David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Daft Punk. Take a listen to their music; are you standing up and having a disco? Well then consider yourself as a dance music fan! People who enjoy Dance Music usually end up in quite positive moods, and are outgoing and open to experience.

So, have you found out your favourite music genre? Or have you got more than one!? Or do you love music so much that you like a bit of everything? Type your answers in the comment section down below! Oh yeah, and, could you leave a like? It means a lot! Thank you!
