Do you feel like your desk is looking a bit boring, and it needs a bit of a....jazz up?
Well here are some quick tips to improve your desk setup, with an eco friendly twist!
1.Bottle holders
Feel the need to make a new pencil holder? Instead of buying a stationary pot, why not use some plastic bottles?
-Firstly, cut the plastic bottle in half (and a quick tip, make sure your plastic bottle is sturdy, if it is unbalanced, use some cardboard to stick onto the base of the pencil holder, to support it).
-Next, take the bottom half of the plastic bottle, and make sure the edges where you cut are smooth. Ask an adult to help you if they are sharp.
-Now, decorate your plastic bottle using whatever materials and mediums you can find. *Top tip-try not to use glitter in your design, as this is extremely harmful to the environment).
-Lastly, stick the pencil holder onto the cardboard, if you want to decorate the cardboard, feel free, now you can add your pencils or stationary of your choice, and you've got your own pencil holder!
2. Eco friendly pens and pencils
This isn't exactly a craft, but it is deffintely worth reading. Across the internet there are many sites which sell eco friendly pens and pencils, made from recyclable plastics. Try and use them more often, and all of your old pens which don't work, try sending them off to a company which recycles them.
3 .Desk organisers
Why not make your own organiser out of plastic straws and carboard? There are multiple ways you can do this.
-Firstly, if you have any plastic straws around, then you will need them. If you don't have plastic straws, then scroll down and move onto the other way you can make an organizer.
-Get your plastic straws, and cut them all in half. You will be keeping the bottom half of the straw, not the top bit where you drink from. If you want your organiser to be quite deep, then cut your straws a little over half way. If you want it to be shallow, then just stick with half way.
-Next, grab a piece of cardboard and cut it into a circle and decorate it in any way you would like. This will be acting as the base of your organiser (a little like the pencil holder).
-Now, gather together the straws you cut, and place them around the cardboard circle, acting as the walls of your organiser. *Top tip, glue them with a hot glue gun, as this will work best, but don't add too much glue, you don't want to waste it! *
-And now you have your own little organizer! The things you put in the organizer depends on the depth. If your organizer is quite deep, then I suggest putting things such as rulers, pens and pencils in it. However, if it is fairly shallow, then put things such as erasers, sticky notes and sharpeners in it.

What an interesting website. Very informative.
